Main assumptions of the method

Three rules.

The classical pilates method takes a holistic approach to body exercises. The first principle is about the health of the whole body "Whole Body Health", the second is about the involvement of the whole body during work "Whole Body Commitment", the third principle is called "Breath". These three principles connect the body, mind and soul of the practitioner.

Six rules.

Concentration, control, breathing, precision, balance and fluidity of movement are the components of the three most important principles.

- Concentration - involves focusing on the task at hand, listening to commands and instructions and putting them into motion. Calming down the problems of everyday life and consciously activating specific parts of the body.

- Control - aims to coordinate the work of the body with the mind and correct breathing, the movement must be performed calmly in a well-thought-out way, not by swinging or rushing. Its aim is to improve rhythm and control movement.

- Breathing - inhale through the nostrils during extensions, maximum exhalation through the mouth during stretching, twists and rotations. When inhaling, the chest expands, the abdominal cavity does not grow, but when exhaling, it returns, the breath is not a principle but a working tool.

- Precision - performing the exercise according to the teacher's instructions does not expose the body to injuries. It allows you to activate muscle memory, which affects the correctness of movement in and outside the gym.

- Center of the body - the aim of the exercises is to develop and strengthen the deep muscles without significantly expanding them, helping to maintain the balance of body and mind in the gym and in everyday life.

- Flow of movement - allows you to move from exercise to exercise as in a dance composition, eliminates the feeling of tension and helps you de-stress. Each movement is smooth, delicate and performed without haste.
